Neighborhood and downtown connectors vary in type from short pathways and bridges, to signed sidewalks that make Morgantown and Star City easier to walk and bike to destinations. Neighborhood connectors are intended to increase commuting by biking or walking to work, school, parks, and shopping areas.
Examples on the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail include the Good Bridge that connects the rail-trail with Marilla Park and Whitmore Park Trail that connects to Richwood Avenue / Fifth Ward neighborhoods. On the Mon River Trail, the WVU Core Arboretum has trails that intersect with the rail-trail.
