Star City Repaving Project is FINISHED and trail completely OPEN again. Thank you to our contractor, Stone Paving, Inc. for new trail paving and upgraded drainage in Town of Star City, trail miles 6 and 7.
As a result, 1.5 miles have a smooth trail surface and improved drainage which helps protect the rail-trail during storms. The Star City Trail Repaving Project is partially funded by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s Recreational Trails Program administered by the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways. The 20% local match to this federal grant is funded by the Monongalia County Parks and Trails Levy and donations to the Mon River Trails Conservancy.
