Thank you all that have donated to the Funds for the Fix-Its Campaign! Trail volunteers have been installed one at Star City, Prickett’s Fort, Masontown, and at the Van Voorhis Trailheads. An additional fix-it station will go in at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park in Morgantown as part of the renovations and upgrades to the park. Each bike repair station has an air pump, rack to raise a bike, and screwdrivers and allen wrenches for simple fixes. These amenities are a great start to adventure or a welcome aid for a needed fix during a ride.
As a part of this campaign, awards from the Trail Volunteer Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation and the Mavis Grant & George W. Lilley Jr. Community Enhancement Fund helped to leverage more donations from trail users. Over $7,000 was raised with a diverse mix of support from individuals, businesses, and grant foundations for these amenities on the rail-trails.
These are just one more amenity to assure trail users that they will have a fun and positive rail-trail experience.
