Trail Sections will be CLOSED in phases starting July 23rd to October 31

Major restoration work on the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail will start this Thursday, July 23 on sections of the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail outside of Morgantown city limits.  This work will improve drainage, restore trail surface of compacted stone, and re-establish the rail-trail’s 10ft width.   Work on the over 12 miles of rail-trail is anticipated to take several months depending on the weather.

This project is partially funded from the Federal Highway Administration’s Recreational Trails Program and administered by the WV Department of Transportation, Division of Highways.

The trail will be closed in phases.
